Training Description
This training provides a brief overview of kink culture and key kink-related concepts, with a focus on how kink-informed practices can enhance clients' sexual experiences across relationship styles. Participants will explore ways kink-informed practices and frameworks can decrease shame, strengthen consent, reduce rape culture, and increase awareness and communication of expectations, limits, boundaries, and desires. The training will also introduce resources clinicians can share with clients in therapeutic settings.
Learning Objectives:
Define at least three foundational concepts commonly used within kink culture, including negotiation, aftercare, and risk awareness.
Identify at least two ways that practices from kink culture can support clearer communication, consent, and boundary-setting in sexual experiences.
Describe how kink-informed approaches can promote pleasure, agency, and sexual self-awareness across a range of relationships and identities.
Identify at least one kink-affirming resource that can be shared with clients or community members seeking additional education or support.
